Thomas Petersen – Managing Partner

The founder and managing partner of ThreeCore. His background includes the development of global manufacturing strategies, leading design-to-cost programs as well as strategic sourcing efforts for multi-national companies. Having lent his consulting expertise to a wide variety of industries, recently he has been focused on the medical and life science sectors.

Prior to founding ThreeCore, Mr. Petersen was the General Manager of Instrument Industries, a leading supplier of precision motion control tables. Serving the semiconductor equipment market, Instrument Industries developed into one of the fastest growing companies in the industry. In 1999, Mr. Petersen led the sale of Instrument Industries to Kollmorgen Corporation, a $250 million manufacturer of precision motion equipment. Prior to Instrument Industries, Mr. Petersen worked at General Scanning developing products for medical imaging and laser marking. During his tenure, revenues grew from $25 to $175 million.

Mr. Petersen has a BSEE from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Bentley College. He currently serves on the board of Nutfield Technology and has been quoted in numerous industry publications.

rob maclean

Robert MacLean – General Partner

Mr. MacLean has been providing consulting services to Fortune 500 companies for the last ten years. His assignments have included program management, international sourcing, logistics strategy and supporting design-to-cost initiatives. Mr. MacLean has consulted for companies across several industry segments including telecomm, medical, life-science, industrial, semiconductor and electronics capital equipment manufacturing.

Mr. MacLean has over 30 years of experience in materials management, procurement, logistics, and operations for multi-national firms. He has worked in senior positions at Polaroid and Wang Laboratories in both the U.K. and North America over the past two decades.

Prior to joining ThreeCore, Mr. MacLean had global operations responsibility for factories in the US, Canada and the UK for GSI Group, manufacturing laser-based capital equipment for a range of applications in the automotive, life science and semiconductor industries.

Mr. MacLean holds a BSc from Aberdeen University in Scotland, and an MBA from Boston University.

Michael Kampfe – Principal

Mr. Kampfe has been providing executive consulting services for the past eight years. His assignments have included corporate strategy, executive recruitment, and lean process initiatives. His clients service markets ranging from life-science equipment development to factory automation.

Prior to his consulting career, Mr. Kampfe was Vice President and General Manager of GSI Group. There he led a $275 million diversified technology business with over 2,000 employees worldwide. His accomplishments included a successful merger of equals with Lumonics Corporation, the development of DNA analysis equipment that was later sold for $120 million to Packard Bioscience, the sale of four non-strategic businesses and the introduction of 20 new products. Mr. Kampfe has also held management positions at Polaroid and Magna Copper.

He holds a BSME from the University of Arizona, completed an Executive Management Program at Stanford University and is a licensed professional engineer.

john dziadosz

John Dziadosz – Principal

Mr. Dziadosz has been providing consulting and interim CFO services for the past fifteen years. He has supported clients in business plan development, fund raising, financial procedure development, M&A, incentive plan design, debt restructuring and corporate tax planning. Mr. Dziadosz has a diversified background, consulting in such fields as medical equipment, retail services, laser and optical component manufacturing and precision motion control.

John is a Certified Public Accountant with a BS in Accounting from the University of Lowell.

Chris Nolan – Consultant

Ms. Nolan has over fifteen years experience in high technology program and product marketing at industry leading organizations such as Kollmorgen, Parker Hannifin and RSA Security. Her cross-functional experience has helped create award-winning marketing programs, manage new customer acquisitions and leverage the voice of the customer to generate market awareness and positively affect sales.

Chris holds a BSME from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

King Tang – Consultant

Mr. Tang specializes in providing his engineering and marketing knowledge to the electronic manufacturing service industry. Mr. Tang’s wide breadth of experience in electronics manufacturing and low cost sourcing has provided him with experience related to all aspects of the manufacturing process as well as the ability to establish and implement short and long range sales goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.

Mr. Tang’s work has included responsibility organization-wide from research and development, engineering, costing, PID, PIE Engineering, Purchasing, IQC, PMC, Line QC, FQA and logistics management. His focus on monitoring market trends in manufacturing and identifying clients’ needs as they relate to existing business and new opportunities has allowed him to front the effort to locate and qualify manufacturing suppliers in Asia; as well as developing new distribution markets and market products in Europe, Australia and the United States.
   
 richard shen

Richard Shen – Partner

Mr. Shen has been managing strategic sourcing, supply chain operations and business development for more than twenty five years.  He has partnered with Threecore as a sourcing expert and is responsible for international supplier certification and management of the program.  Mr. Shen brings his global resource experience to the ThreeCore team of experts.

Prior to partnering with ThreeCore, Mr. Shen worked with SPX in Asia as Global Director of Sourcing and has held senior positions with Polaroid and Alcatel-Lucent.

 

Roger Roach – Lead Investor/Advisor

Mr. Roach is ThreeCore's lead investor. In 1973, he founded Instruments Industries. Over the next 25 years, he grew the company into one of the premier motion control companies in the world. Instrument Industries manufactured a variety of precision motion control products principally used in semiconductor capital equipment. At the time of the company's sale, Instrument Industries was the fastest growing company in its market. After the sale, Mr. Roach formed an investment company and has funded a number of emerging businesses involved in technology manufacturing.
